A Guide to Minerva Worktops.

Minerva is a brand of worksurface used mainly in domestic kitchens and bathrooms.

The material used is a 25mm blended acrylic sheet. It is an affordable alternative to solid surface worktop brands like Corian for 2 reasons. It is supplied in a modular format that your kitchen fitter installs. This means that there is no need for a template to be made prior to installation and the use of a specialist installer. This translates to a saving of approximately £750 on the labour costs of you worktop installation.

Additionally, because no template is required, the overall length of time your total kitchen installation takes will be reduced by around a week to 10 days.

How are Minerva work surfaces installed?

The Minerva easy to fit system makes installation simple, but needs to be undertaken by competent kitchen installers. as. Worktops can be installed using standard wood working equipment and they are supplied with pre-finished surfaces and edges. Consequently there is no need for expensive and time consuming templating usually associated with solid surface products.

Your kitchen fitter will be able achieve seamless joints and profiles for the complete ‘solid surface finish’.  It cannot be stressed too highly that the final finish is highly reliant on the skill of the installer. For that reason you should establish that your kitchen fitter is familiar with the product and has fitted it previously.

Caring for your Minerva countertops.

Your worktop will be covered by a 10 year guarantee and properly cared for could provide many years of use beyond that.

Day to day cleaning is a matter of wipe over with a damp cloth and soapy water. The worksurface should then be rinsed with clean water and wiped dry. Persistent marks can be removed by using a mild abrasive cleaner, but harsh scouring powders should be avoided. If in doubt, consult our care and maintenance guide.
